Tofu Dave is the live stage MC who’s down home and the audience relates to for live music – americana, blues or jazz.  Bi-lingual with Spanish jokes and gringo commentary, down to earth.  “The Blue-Collar Buddha” according to some….

Flexibility is supreme!  Tofu has experience in many facets of life.  In addition to front-stage MC, he’s been backstage (sound, artist hospitality and security).  When not at live events, he’s organized factory workers, built co-housing communities, dealt with land development, and managed finances.  He’s volunteered and been on boards of several nonprofits, been a founding member of community radio, …. and is still not exhausted (at least not all the time).

Currently  board member of WCOM FM community radio in Chapel Hill & Carrboro NC.  He does the exciting author interview show “Between the Covers: A Literature Quicky” as well as continued re-broadcasts of live music on the “Carrboro Live On Tape” midnight show once a week. —  Packing more into a few minutes than others manage in an hour!
